Silver waves media hosts final four’s premiere coaching networking event

Indianapolis - As the college basketball world descends upon Indianapolis for the Final Four, a unique event takes place behind the scenes bringing together the next wave of college basketball’s great coaches with the power players in college basketball that could one day hire them.

For the fourth straight year, Ryan Silver and his company Silver Waves Media is hosting its “Elite 75 Power Lunch.” The lunch brings together the Top 75 rising assistant coaches in college basketball with the most powerful search firms and AD’s in the business as well. Last season the event welcomed several future head coaches including Jai Lucas (then Duke assistant, now Miami head coach), Nolan Smith (current Tennessee State head coach) and Steven Pearl (the current Auburn head coach.

This year, the “Elite 75 Power Lunch” coaching tree grew bigger and quicker than ever before. Of the 75 names to the preliminary list, 14 have already been named head coaches in this cycle. That list includes new Boston College head coach Luke Murray, new Ball State head man Chris Capko and San Diego’s new lead man JR Blount, among others. Most recently, Justin Gainey - originally named to the list - was named NC State head coach.

In addition to coaches, search firms and AD’s are present, with Final Four host school IU-Indy being represented by AD Luke Bosso.

Earlier on Thursday, Silver Waves Media also hosted its “Rising Stars” event with some of the most prominent mid-major assistants in the country as well.
