Spread: Miami (OH (-7)
Over/Under: 53.5
Why do I like Miami? Here’s how they prepared for the MAC slate: played at Ohio State, played at Army, and played at sweater-wearing PJ Fleck’s Minnesota squad. That’s a pretty good non-conference slate to prep for some MACtion.
Miami rolls into Athens having won back to back games. And if the cult classic “Bull Durham” taught me anything, that means Miami is about to start a win streak.
The Pick: Miami (OH) Money Line
Ball State (-20.5) at Akron: Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. ET, CBS Sports Network
Spread: Ball State (-20.5)
Over/Under: 58.5
Akron has already lost three contests on their home field, including to Ohio, which hasn't won another game all year. Buffalo smacked the Zips around 45-10 last week, meaning the Zips they lost back to back conference games by double digits.
Ball State meanwhile has won three of their last four games, including two on the road.
Traveling to Akron ain’t no problem for Ball State, which will win their fourth in five games Tuesday night.
The Pick: Ball State Money Line
Eastern Michigan at Toledo: Tuesday, 7:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2
Spread: Toledo (-9)
Over/Under: 53.5
Keep in mind, this is a Toledo team that went into South Bend and almost pulled off the upset against the Fighting Irish. The Rockets did lose two in a row at one point since, but also bounced back with a nice win against Western Michigan last week.
The Pick: Toledo Moneyline

Wednesday's game highlights the divisional leaders: Northern Illinois against Kent State. NIU opened the season with a win over Georgia Tech and are currently riding a five-game win streak. I’ve got love for Julian Edelman’s alma mater, but the NIU Huskies are playing for keeps, playing for that MAC title. Kent St is no easy place to play - drunk college kids will fill the stands on Wednesday night. But NIU has played AT Georgia Tech and AT Ann Arbor vs Michigan, so I’m confident they will get the road victory on hump day.
Wednesday Pick: Northern Illinois (+3.5)
Alright, now that we've gotten our Wednesday pick out there, let's get back to today.
