We are halfway through the college football season with big games on the horizon. Although many recruits are announcing their commitments around this time, there are still plenty of recruiting visits happening this weekend.
Ohio State
The Buckeyes have their home biggest game of the season as they host the No. 7 Penn State Nittany Lions on Saturday. This weekend, Ohio State will be hosting a 2024 commit and a pair of 2025 recruits including one that’s committed.
Four-Star, RB, Jordan Lyle (Committed)
Four-star running back Jordan Lyle, who committed to the Buckeyes back in April, will be in attendance for this Saturday’s game. Prior to committing to Ohio State, the St. Thomas Aquinas running back received multiple offers from notable Power Five programs such as Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado and Florida. Lyle is listed as 13th best running back in the nation for the Class of 2024 and the 20th highest ranked recruit in the state of Florida by 247Sports Composite. The Fort. Lauderdale, Florida native is having a strong senior season so far and will look to make an impact at Ohio State starting next year.
Four-Star, LB, Elijah Melendez (2025)
Ryan Day and his staff will also be hosting four-star linebacker Elijah Melendez who olds offers from both Ohio State and Penn State. Melendez is placed as the 21st best linebacker in the Class of 2025 and the 27th best overall player in the state of Florida. Besides the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions, the linebacker has also received offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida State and LSU. The four-star is currently a junior at Osceola high school in Kissimmee, Florida. It will be interesting to see if Ohio State can make a strong impression on Melendez this Saturday.
Four-Star, WR, Jayvan Boggs (Committed) (2025)
Jayvan Boggs, who committed to Ohio State last week, will also be in Columbus for the Buckeyes’ matchup with Penn State this weekend. The four-star also received offers from programs like West Virginia, Louisville, Colorado, Boston College and even got an offer from the Nittany Lions. 247Sports Composite has the wide receiver placed as the 36th best receiver in the nation for the Class of 2025 and 38th highest ranked recruit in the state of Florida. Before committing to Ohio State, Boggs also visited UCF in August for its season-opening victory over Kent State. We will see if Saturday’s visit is enough for Boggs to stay committed as a Buckeye.
Oregon
Dan Lanning and his staff have a big weekend coming up as Oregon hosts Washington State. Along with the game, it is also a big recruiting weekend in Eugene as the Ducks host a pair of five-stars.
Five-Star, OL, Jordan Seaton
Five-star offensive lineman Jordan Seaton will be in attendance for Oregon's matchup with Washington State on Saturday. Seaton, who recently got upgraded to a five-star, holds offers from many notable Power Five programs such as Florida, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Carolina and Colorado. The Bradenton, Florida native is listed as the second highest ranked offensive lineman in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports and the fifth best overall player in the state of Florida. The offensive lineman has taken a handful of other official visits this season, including to Colorado and Tennessee. The senior at IMG Academy’s recruiting process is one that college football fans everywhere have been paying attention to. It will be intriguing to see if the Ducks can convince Seaton to play in Eugene next season.
Five-Star, ATH, DJ Pickett (2025)
Lanning and his staff will also be hosting five-star athlete DJ Pickett. Pickett plays both wide receiver and safety for Zephyrhills High School in Tampa, Florida but is being recruited as a safety. 247Sports has the five-star listed as the best safety in the nation for the Class of 2025 and the second highest ranked recruit in the state of Florida. Besides Oregon, Pickett has also received offers from Auburn, Alabama, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, and many more Power Five schools. Whether the Ducks can make a solid impression on the five-star this Saturday will be something to keep an eye on as they look to add to an already strong recruiting class.
Florida State
The Seminoles host many recruits as they host Duke on Saturday night for a Top 25 matchup. Many players who are already committed to Florida State will be in Tallahassee along with players who are committed to other schools.
Five-Star, ATH, KJ Bolden (committed)
Five-star athlete KJ Bolden, who is recruited as a safety, will be in Tallahassee this weekend for Florida State’s matchup with Duke. Despite being committed to the Seminoles, Bolden still took other visits this season to schools like Georgia and Auburn. 247Sports has Bolden listed as the best safety in the nation for the Class of 2024 and second best overall football player in the state of Georgia. The Buford, Georgia native has been committed to Florida State since August. Bolden’s visit is one to watch out for as we will see if this weekend’s visit is enough to keep him committed.
Four-Star, DL, Artavius Jones (Miami Commit)
Miami commit Artavius Jones will be in attendance for Florida State. The four-star has been committed to the Hurricanes since July but is still visiting other schools. Prior to committing to Miami, Jones also received offers from notable Power Five programs like Kentucky, Colorado, Illinois, Louisville and more. The four-star is ranked as the 30th best defensive lineman in the nation for the Class of 2024 and 23rd best player in the state of Florida. It will be intriguing to see if Mike Norvell and his staff along with the whole atmosphere of the game does enough to flip Jones’ commitment from the Hurricanes to the Seminoles.
Four-Star, DL, Nasir Johnson (Florida Commit)
Four-star defensive lineman Nasir Johnon will be visiting the Seminoles this weekend for their matchup with the Blue Devils. The Dublin, Georgia native is currently committed to Florida State’s in-state rival Florida. 247Sports has Johnson listed as the 13th best defensive lineman in the Class of 2024 and 13th highest ranked recruit in the state of Georgia. Prior to committing to Florida in June, Johnson received offers from South Carolina, Auburn, Cincinnati and more. Norvell and his staff are still actively recruiting Johnson and whether or not they flip his commitment this weekend will be something to watch out for.
Other Notable Visits:
Missouri
Five-Star, WR, Ryan Wingo
Wingo’s recruitment is one that college football fans everywhere have been tuning in for. Initially expected to go to Texas, the crystal balls have flipped to Missouri’s favor recently. The St. Louis native will be in Columbia this Saturday for Mizzou’s homecoming matchup with South Carolina. Wingo is ranked as the second best receiver in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.
The wide receiver’s commitment date was originally scheduled for December 20th but this week it got moved up to October 25th. It is interesting how that’s right after he visits Missouri for its second straight home game. Wingo was also in attendance for the Tigers matchup with LSU two weeks ago, which was the same day he was initially scheduled to visit Texas for the Red River Showdown.
The five-star’s visit and commitment next week is one to look out for.
USC
Four-Star, RB, Deondrae Riden (2025)
Fresh off adding some much-needed defensive help on Friday, four-star running back Deondrae Riden will be in Southern California for USC’s Top 25 matchup with Utah this Saturday. Riden is ranked as the 12th best running back in the Class of 2025 and the 24th highest ranked recruit in the state of Texas. The DeSoto, Texas native also holds offers from Alabama, Auburn, Baylor, Kansas, Miami and many more Power Five programs. We will see if USC can make a strong impression on the junior running back.
Alabama

Three-star edge Grayshaun Swain will be in Tuscaloosa for Alabama’s matchup with Tennessee this weekend. The three-star has received offers from Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Florida and more but will be visiting the Crimson Tide this Saturday. Swain is placed as the 48th best edge in the nation for the class of 2025 and the 27th best player in the state of Alabama.
