FIRST LOOK - 2024 NBA title odds: Can Denver repeat as champions?

The NBA Finals are complete - but it's never too early to look at the early 2024 NBA title odds.

And thankfully, our friends at Betfred Sportsbook are already looking ahead to the 2023-2024 season.

Can the Denver Nuggets go back-to-back? And if not, who could potentially upend them?

Here are the early 2024 NBA title odds - presented by our partners at Betfred Sportsbook.

Denver Nuggets (+500)

The Denver Nuggets are your 2023 NBA champs and there's no reason to think they can't repeat in 2024.

This team is coming off an NBA Finals run where they completely vanquished the competition, winning 12 of their last 15 games and losing just one game in the Western Conference and NBA Finals.

Even scarier? Most of this team is just now entering its prime. Finals MVP Nikola Jokic is just 28 years, Jamal Murray 26 and MIchael Porter Jr. just 24.

The Nuggets aren't unbeatable but should be considered a comfortable favorite heading into 2023-2024.

Boston Celtics (+550)

The Boston Celtics' season didn't end quite as expected with a disappointing Eastern Conference Finals loss to Miami - but it doesn't change the fact that they were elite in the regular season a year ago, and one game away from their second straight NBA Finals this year.

Most importantly, the organization has already publicly stated that there will be no major blowup of this roster this off-season. Coach Joe Mazulla will have a full off-season to put together a game-plan for 2023-2024 (rather than getting thrown into the fire in the fall like this year) and like the Nuggets, most of this core is just now entering their primes.

At some point, the young core of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have to break through, right?

The oddsmakers sure seem to think so.

Milwaukee Bucks (+650)

Speaking of the oddsmakers, they appear to still love the Bucks - despite an opening round loss to Miami.

And with good reason: This group was deemed one of the favorites all year, and whenever you've got Giannis Antetokounmpo - assuming he's healthy, unlike this year - you've got a chance.

Expect there to be some tweaking of an aging roster, but there's no reason to think the Bucks can't grab their second title in four seasons in 2024.

Phoenix Suns (+850)

Of every team on this list, the Suns are the most interesting.

On the one hand, they lost in the second round - and when it happened, we assumed major changes would come. On the other hand, they took two games off the Denver Nuggets in these playoffs, one more than the Lakers and Heat did combined in the final two rounds of the playoffs.

The question now: With Frank Vogel in as a head coach, are there big changes to be made? Will Chris Paul and/or Deandre Ayton be back? Or will they try to largely run it back, after acquiring Kevin Durant late in the season, and hoping to fill out a very thin bench through free agency.

Others:

Golden State Warriors (+1200)

Los Angeles Lakers (+1200)

Dallas Mavericks (+1300)

Philadelphia 76ers (+1300)
