We got news on Friday that will be of keen interest to college hoops fans, and specifically those in Lexington, Kentucky and Durham, North Carolina.
That news is that the No. 2 high school player in America, center, Derek Lively II will announce his college commitment this coming Monday.
The monster, 7'2 center, shared the news via his Twitter feed.
Admittedly, the news is kind of sudden, since it was long believed that Lively would be waiting until the spring to make any final decision. Kentucky has received the overwhelming majority of the "Crystal Ball" predictions on 247 Sports, although some believe Duke is the leader.
Regardless, he seems ready to commit and Monday we will get the answer. If he does end up at Kentucky, it would be part of a staggering recruiting run in recent weeks, as the Wildcats received a commitment from the No. 1 player in America, guard Shaedon Sharpe, last week and the No. 5 player in America, Chris Livingston this week.
And right now it appears they will get No. 2 as well, although no one is for sure right now.
Since there is no more real information to share, we'll instead just share his highlight videos below. Put bluntly, it's hard to remember a guy his size, with the athleticism, shooting stroke and passing ability at the high school level. It's almost like he has Willie Cauley Stein's body, but with Anthony Davis' skill-set.
