There's a cop in Alabama that looks freakishly similar to "The Rock"

The internet is a wild place, and if there were any doubt about that we learned it again over the weekend.

That's when pictures emerged of a cop in Alabama... who has a freakish similarity to the Rock. Like, seriously freakish.

First, for a little context, here is the real Rock.

In case you somehow forgot what he looked like.

Now, here is the doppelganger down in Alabama:

I mean, COME ON.

To quote John McEnroe: YOU CANNOT be serious.

As it turns out, the officer's name is Eric Fields (sorry, but my guy does not look like an "Eric Fields") and he has been with the Morgan County Sherriff's office for 17 years according to an article on AL.com. In terms of how he went viral, well, the guy in the above picture saw him, and called the sheriff's office, asking for the guy who looked like the Rock.

And Fields delivered. More from AL.com:

The sheriff’s office posted this on Facebook last week when a local fan had to see it for himself: “This gentlemen recently ran into Sgt. Mason and informed him he wanted to meet our Deputy that people say looks like “The Rock”. Sgt. Mason passed that along and Lieutenant Fields was happy to swing by the Hartselle Wal-mart to see him. Tyler is one of their many hardworkers and it was great to meet him and some of his coworkers!”

According to Fields, his appearance has been a running joke for a while now, with his friends calling him "The Rock and Vin Diesel’s love child." He does impressions of the Rock and his wife even buys him Rock paraphernalia for when he works out (think this guy lifts, by the way?).

In terms of the encounter with the fan, well, Fields had this to say:

“The blessing was really for me because he had a spirit that was just such a great person to meet.,” Fields said. “He’s the real celebrity. Everybody knew him and loved him. It was a blessing to me. I go trying to bless someone else, and I come out with the blessing of meeting him. I wish the actual Rock could meet this kid. He’s the hometown hero.”

Can't lie, that sounds EXACTLY like something The Rock would say.

Are we positive this guy is a doppelganger and not the real one?
