College Football Recruiting Weekend Roundup - Georgia, Colorado host major visitors for big games

Every Saturday, multiple highly-ranked recruits attend games of the schools that are interested in them. Let’s take a look at notable recruiting visits for the Class of 2024 that are happening in Week 3 of the college football season.

Georgia:

As the Bulldogs get set to host South Carolina, a slew of prospects are expected to visit campus. That includes a pair of five-stars:

Five-Star, ATH, KJ Bolden

Despite committing to Florida State in August, the Georgia Bulldogs still haven't given up on recruiting five-star athlete KJ Bolden. He is listed as the 16th overall prospect in the Class of 2024 according to ESPN and will also be visiting Auburn this month. Rivals has Bolden ranked as the third best overall player in the state of Georgia as well as the best safety in the state. Bolden is also a talented wide receiver for Buford High School in Georgia. It will be interesting to see if Kirby Smart and his staff can talk Bolden into staying home.

Five-Star, DL, Aydin Breland

Bolden isn’t the only five-star prospect that the Bulldogs are hosting this weekend. Defensive lineman Aydin Breland will also be in Athens for the big game on Saturday. The senior at Mater Dei High School also has dozens of offers from Power 5 schools, but recently cut his list to three which are Georgia, Oregon and Miami. Saturday will be Breland’s second official visit to the Bulldogs as he also visited back in June according to 247Sports. The five-star is listed as the top uncommitted defensive lineman in the Class of 2024 and the fifth best lineman in the nation. We will see if the Bulldogs can land Breland after this Saturday’s visit and add on to the top recruiting class in the country so far. As of right now, Georgia is the slight frontrunner for Breland.

Colorado:

Earlier this week, Deion Sanders told us that recruiting has been through the roof. The Buffaloes will host a number of visitors for Saturday's Rocky Mountain Showdown game that all of a sudden got more interesting just this week with Jay Norvell's comments. Here are a couple of the notable recruits who will be on campus:

Four-Star, OL, Jordan Seaton

It'll be a big day in Boulder as the Buffaloes are hosting College Gameday for the first time since 1996, and it is also an important day as they host some talented recruits. That includes four-star offensive tackle Jordan Seaton. The offensive lineman has offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU and USC. The senior out of IMG Academy is one of the top offensive tackles in the nation and would be an impressive pickup for Colorado as the program which could definitely use help along the offensive line. We will see if the Buffaloes make a good impression on Seaton this Saturday.

Four-Star, ATH, Boo Carter

Tennessee commit Boo Carter will also be in Boulder this Saturday to watch the Buffaloes host Colorado State. Although Carter is committed to the Volunteers as of right now, Sanders and his staff are still actively recruiting him. The four-star athlete will be taking an unofficial visit this weekend. Carter is listed as the 17th best athlete in the nation and fourth best player in the state of Tennessee according to 247Sports and also received offers from Michigan, Arkansas and Arizona State. It is definitely worth following to see if Colorado is able to flip Carter’s commitment from the Volunteers.

Four star, WR, Dallas Wilson (2025)

There was one more major addition to Colorado's recruiting weekend, as Dallas Wilson, one of the top wide receivers in the class of 2025, decided to make a last minute trip to Colorado for Saturday's game.

The news was reported by Max Torres, who covers Oregon for Ducks' Digest.

Currently committed to Oregon, Wilson is ranked as one of the Top 25 players in the entire class of 2025, and the fifth ranked receiver overall. Interestingly, Colorado already has another four-star receiver in 2025 already committed, in IMG's Winson Watkins Jr.

Florida:

Like Georgia, Florida hosts a big SEC showdown, as Tennessee comes to town. It will also be a big recruiting weekend for Billy Napier and Co., who currently own the No. 3 class in the 2024 cycle. Here are some of the notable attendees

Four-Star. S. Zavier Mincey

A Top 100 recruit and four-star safety out of Daytona Beach, Florida will be in Gainesville this Saturday. Mincey is high on the radar for a lot of top college football programs such as Alabama, Florida State and Miami. 247Sports mentions that the Gators are the favorites to land Mincey over other notable Power Five programs. We will see if this weekend’s visit will convince the safety to commit to Billy Napier and the Florida gators.

Four-Star. DL. LJ McCray

Mincey isn’t the only four-star prospect that Florida is hosting on Saturday. Defensive lineman LJ McCray, who is teammates with Mincey at Mainland high school, will also be in attendance as the Gators host the Volunteers. The 6’6 250 defensive lineman also received offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami and Georgia. 247Sports has McCray listed as the eighth ranked lineman in the nation and fourth best in the state of Florida. Saturday is a very important day for coach Napier and his staff as they look to make a good impression and try to keep McCray and his high school teammate home.

Four-star, S, Hylton Stubbs (2025)

Looking ahead to the 2025 class, Florida will also welcome in one of the state's best players in four-star safety Hylton Stubbs. The safety out of Jacksonville is currently listed as one of the Top 50 players in the class of 2025, currently holding offers from Florida State, Alabama and others, in addition to the Gators.

Other notable visits:

Five-Star, WR, Ryan Wingo, Texas

Things are trending up in Austin. The Texas Longhorns are 2-0 with a victory over Alabama in Tuscaloosa last Saturday and highly-ranked recruits are starting to commit or take interest in them. One of those recruits is five-star wide receiver Ryan Wingo from St. Louis who will be visiting this Saturday as Texas takes on Wyoming. Wingo is listed as the second-best wide receiver in the nation for the Class of 2024 and the second-best overall player in Missouri. The five-star has also received offers from Missouri, Ole Miss, and Michigan but Missouri and Texas seem to be the frontrunners for him. The wide receiver’s commitment would be big for Steve Sarkisian and his staff as the Longhorns are on the rise.

Five-Star, OL, Brandon Baker, Nebraska

There is no question that a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Brandon Baker would be huge for Matt Rhule as he tries to turn Nebraska around. Baker has the Cornhuskers in his Top 4 along with Ohio State, Oregon and Texas. The offensive lineman is expected to announce his final decision on September 24th. The Santa Ana, California native will be in Lincoln, Nebraska this Saturday as the Cornhuskers host Northern Illinois for a night game. According to On3.com, Nebraska landing Baker is a long shot as Texas is leading the way but there is still a chance that we could see the five-star in Lincoln next season. Baker is currently teammates with Breland at Mater Dei high school.

Three-Star Edge, Jaylen Harvey, Maryland

Three-star Jaylen Harvey, is set to make his decision very soon. Before the Gaithersburg, Maryland native makes his decision, Harvey will be staying in-state this Friday as he will be visiting the Terrapins who host Virginia. Harvey has Maryland in his Top 3 along with USC and Penn State. The Senior Edge at Quince Orchard high school is listed as the 27th best edge player in the country and the 12th best player in Maryland according to 247Sports. 247Sports also mentions that the Nittany Lions seem to be the favorite to land Harvey but the Terrapins get one final chance to convince him to play in College Park next season.
