2024 College Hoops Title Odds - Who are the best bets in the Betfred Sportsbook?

The 2023 college hoops season has come to an end, but it's never too early to look ahead to 2024.

UConn (+1100): This UConn team could essentially bring back most of a team that just won the National Championship. Jordan Hawkins and Joey Calcaterra are two players that are for sure leaving, but everyone else could come back. Andre Jackson has said he plans to return, and right now it’s looking like Adama Sanogo could be back for one more season in Storrs. Donovan Clingan should also come into his own even more next year at center. UConn’s also bringing in a top-5 recruiting class lead by a 5-star point guard in Stephon Castle. UConn isn’t going anywhere, and these odds reflect that they should be the favorite next year too.

Duke (+1300): The Blue Devils were inconsistent this year but finished very strong before losing in the Tournament to Tennessee. Next year, Tyrese Proctor and Mark Mitchell will be back and we should probably expect a third year from Jeremy Roach as well. Kyle Filipowski’s future is up in the air still too. On top of all that, the Blue Devils are bringing in the #2 recruiting class in the country as reinforcements. Hunter Dickinson is also in the running for the Blue Devils too. Duke could be back in full force next year.

Alabama (+1500): Alabama’s core from this past season’s #1 overall seed should still be here a year later. Brandon Miller is heading to the NBA with Noah Clowney, but Jahvon Quinerly, Rylan Griffen, Mark Sears, and Charles Bediako should all be back despite Quinerly and Bediako testing NBA Draft waters. Jaden Bradley just jumped into the transfer portal, so he’s leaving too, but the Tide picked up Jaykwon Walton in the transfer portal already too and they aren’t done. This team should be mostly intact after this past season and with Nate Oats steering the ship, they’ll be in contention still.

Arizona (+1500): Arizona over-exceeded expectations this past season, and that was evident when they lost to Princeton in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Wildcats already lost Kerr Kriisa to the transfer portal and Courtney Ramey ran out of the eligibility. Oumar Ballo and Pelle Larsson will be back and right now Azuolas Tubelis is expected back, but that could change whether it’s to the NBA or overseas. Kylan Boswell takes the keys at point guard and KJ Lewis brings in toughness as a freshman. The Wildcats also figure to be active in the transfer portal too, but with who is anyone’s guess. Still these odds make sense if they pull it off.

Kentucky (+1500): This year’s Kentucky team epitomized inconsistency. Cason Wallace, Jacob Toppin, and Oscar Tshiebwe are all expected to move on in some fashion to the NBA. Still, Kentucky brings in the No. 1 recruiting class in the country with FOUR Top-10 picks, highlighted by DJ Wagner, Justin Edwards, and Aaron Bradshaw. Expect the Wildcats to make a few moves in the portal and this team has a legitimate chance to win a title next season because it’ll have just enough experience, combined with the talent of the freshman they’re bringing in.

Purdue (+1600): The Purdue team that was a part of the biggest upset in NCAA Tournament history this past season returns basically their entire team this next year. David Jenkins is the one player out of eligibility, while Zach Edey will almost certainly be back after winning most of the Player of the Year awards. This team still won the Big Ten regular season and tournament, so there’s clearly a foundation there, but the question is if they can get over the hump in the Tournament. Time will tell, but there’s talent here and with almost everyone returning it’s hard to bet against this team on paper.
